US to Cut Flights by 10% at 40 Major Airports

The United States aviation industry is facing serious challenges due to the partial government shutdown. The country's authorities have been forced to take drastic measures, announcing that flights at the 40 largest airports in the US will be cut by 10%. This decision is based on very serious problems related to air traffic control safety, which are directly caused by the ongoing political crisis.
The "shutdown," which has been described as the "longest in US history," has resulted in key professionals in the industry being forced to work without pay. This specifically concerns 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 employees of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), who are responsible for ensuring passenger safety. The lack of salaries creates serious risks for the smooth and safe operation of the system, forcing authorities to resort to flight reductions.
This situation has caused panic among both airlines and passengers. Air carriers were forced to "make significant cuts in just 36 hours," which created serious logistical and financial problems. At the same time, thousands of passengers, uncertain about their upcoming travels, have literally "flooded the customer service lines of airlines, expressing concerns about air travel in the coming days."
